Tea Party at Wasimi Odunmo Community, Ile-Oluji Brings Joy and Nutrition to Children

Today, Kids & Teens Resource Centre, a non-profit organization, organized a tea party at Community Primary School, Wasimi Odunmo, Ile-Oluji in commemoration of the Day of the African Child 2023. A philanthropist who celebrated his birthday on the same day sponsored the event.

The event was to bring joy to the children in the rural community by putting a smile on their faces. A support to uplift their spirits. Another aim was to fill the nutrition gap and provide access to adequate nutrition.

The Tea Party started at 12:03 pm with an opening prayer led by one of the students, followed by the National Anthem. The Program Officer, Miss Oluwabukola Aremu, introduced the organization and explained the reason for the celebration.

Miss Blessing Abioye conducted an energizer session where the children were taught how to spell coconut with their bodies and how to do a rain clap. To the students, this was a fun and very exciting part of the event. A brain teaser session (spelling bee) was led by Mr. Oluwaseun, here students randomly to spelt some words.

Finally, the tea party, which was the highlight of the event, began with food (tea, 1 loaf of bread, and 1 egg) distributed to each child, leaving the children smiling and happy.

The Headteacher of the Community Primary School, gave the vote of thanks. Here she expressed her gratitude to the organizers and philanthropist for their kind gesture. Over 110 children were fed at the tea party.

Finally, the aim of bringing joy and nutrition to the children of Wasimi Odunmo community was achieved. The event was a success and it created a positive impact on both the children and the community.

He highlighted the link between family planning and peace. He laid emphasis on the rising cost of living and the health risks associated with childbirth. Coalition of Civil Society Takes a Stand Against Child Marriage in Nigeria On the 18th of September, 2023, a momentous event took place at the ROTDOW office in Nigeria. The Coalition of Civil Society on Ending Child Marriage convened, bringing together dedicated individuals and organizations from across the state to address the urgent issue of child marriage. Trinity and Oluwabukola, representing their organization (Kids and Teens Resource Centre), joined forces with fellow civil society organizations (CSOs) to work towards a common goal. The event commenced with Trinity leading the opening prayer, setting the tone for a productive and meaningful gathering. Mrs. Omolona, a key member of the coalition, expressed her gratitude to all those in attendance. She also extended a special thanks to Mr. Kolawole Olatosimi, the Co-chair of the coalition, for his unwavering support. Mr. Olatosimi took the floor and addressed the eager audience. K&TRC, First Electric Distributes Solar Lanterns To Forty-Five Students At Igbobini, Ondo State Kids & Teens Resource Centre in partnership with First Electric have distributed forty-five Solar Electric Lantern to students of Comprehensive High School Igbobini to aid their studies and improve their educational performances. Presenting the Solar Lantern to the beneficiaries, the Programme Manager of First Electric, Mr Oluwagbenga Alomaja, ably represented by Mr. Lucky Mapayi appreciated Kids & Teens Resource Centre for investing in the future of young people. He described First Electric as a leading company in the sustainable Energy Industry in Nigeria since May 2019 with a vision to drive wide adoption of sustainable energy solution across Sub-Saharan Africa. Mr. Alomaja solicited the support of the school to encourage the students to make judicious use of the lantern. Corps Peer Educators Empowered in Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Training Series

Corps Peer Educator Trainers (C-PETS) Empowered in Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Training Series In an effort to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS and promote awareness among young individuals, the Kids & Teens Resource Centre (K&TRC) recently organized a comprehensive HIV/AIDS training series for Corps members. The program, known as the Corps Peer Educators HIV/AIDS Training Series (C-PETS), aimed to equip Corps members with the necessary knowledge and skills to become effective peer educators. Led by the Executive Director, Mrs. Folashade Bamigboye, the training session took place on August 17th, 2023. During the training, Corps members were provided with a thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts of HIV/AIDS. This encompassed an in-depth exploration of the signs and symptoms associated with the virus. This will enable the participants to recognize potential indicators in individuals who may be affected. The training aimed to enhance their ability to identify and support those impacted by HIV/AIDS within their respective communities. A key focus of the training series was to emphasize the importance of HIV/AIDS prevention strategies. Corps members were educated on various risk reduction techniques.
