Building Skills for Sexual and Reproductive Health: HACEY’s 2-Day Workshop On August 19-20, 2024, HACEY organized a transformative 2-day building workshop for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) under the SRHR Impact Plus Project. The workshop aimed to enhance skills, assess capacity, increase knowledge, foster partnerships, and improve networking among participants. The key concept, “No SRHR Without Edu-tain,” highlighted the importance of combining education with entertainment to effectively communicate Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information. Overview of Adolescent Reproductive Health in Nigeria Martin-Mary Falana led the workshop, engaging the audience on their understanding of SRHR. He shared personal stories that underscored the risks of misinformation and peer pressure, which often lead to unsafe sexual practices. Also, he emphasized the need for early intervention, targeting adolescents aged 10-19, and discussed the challenges they face, including unplanned pregnancies, STIs, and sexual violence. He gave key insights on the following: – Adolescence is a critical transition period. – Erosion of values in modern society affects parental concern about unacceptable behaviors. – Comprehensive sexuality education is essential but often resisted in schools due to cultural beliefs. World Humanitarian Day: A Day of Hope and Empowerment

World Humanitarian Day: A Day of Hope and Empowerment August 19, 2024, will be remembered in the Ajipowo Settlement community as a transformative day of hope and resilience. On World Humanitarian Day, a dedicated team from Kids & Teens Resource Centre gathered 55 individuals—34 women and 21 men—for an inspiring event aimed at breaking the chains of vulnerability. As sensitization sessions unfolded, participants shared their fears, struggles with gender-based violence, intimate partner violence, and vulnerabilities to HIV/AIDS. Despite the heavy emotions, a profound sense of community and solidarity emerged, transforming strangers into allies and allies into family. The distribution of educational materials was more than a simple handout; it represented a commitment to the future. Children’s faces lit up as they received books, textbooks, pencils, and pens. Symbols of their right to dream, learn, and thrive. As the event concluded, the distribution of clothing and shoes served as a powerful reminder that dignity is a fundamental human right. The joy radiating from participants highlighted the transformative power of compassion and community support. Building Bridges of Health and Hope: K&TRC’s Journey Towards 95-95-95″ In the heart of the Ondo South Senatorial District, the Kids & Teens Resource Centre (K&TRC) serves as a beacon of hope, committed to the HIV response and empowering Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs). Through collaboration with the APIN Public Health Initiative and support from the CDC, our aCare OVC Project has become essential for countless families in the region. Here our mission is to ensure every vulnerable child is Healthy, Stable, Schooled, and Safe. Our community-centered interventions aim to connect newly identified Vulnerable Children (VCs) to vital care. Using a case management approach, we facilitate enrollment in treatment programs. We’re also striving for 100% saturation of CALHIV enrollment as we work towards our target of 5,000 beneficiaries. We provide specialized services, including Gender-Based Violence (GBV) screening, nutritional support, and educational assistance. These initiatives address immediate needs while laying the groundwork for a brighter future free from HIV and poverty. Our rigorous HIV risk assessments and strategic testing help identify individuals at risk, ensuring timely access to testing and treatment. We go beyond just healthcare; we offer escort services and adherence counseling to support VCs on their wellness journeys. Our

The event, held at the Kids & Teens Resource Centre Hub in Akure and the Kajola Community in Ore, marked a significant effort to harness the educational and developmental benefits of chess. The day commenced at 12 pm with a warm welcome address by Mr. Emeka, setting the stage for an engaging and insightful session. Each participant had the opportunity to introduce themselves, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community among the attendees. Mr. Maxwell, an adept chess enthusiast, delved into the intricacies of the game, providing comprehensive guidance on playing chess. He elucidated the roles of each player and expounded on their strategic moves on the chess board, laying a strong foundation for the participants’ understanding and appreciation of the game. Miss Hannah shed light on the origin of chess and its profound impact on the cognitive development of young individuals. She emphasized how engaging with chess can enhance mental vision and help deter addictive behaviors. This in turn instills valuable
