World Pneumonia Day 2017 #WPD

Sometime in the year 2002, we welcomed the birth of a wonderful damsel, beautiful and clean baby girl, Eniitan. Wonderful Eniitan was able to witness her christening ceremony and we enjoyed being greeted by families and friends from nigh and far places. She started growing well until a day, a day that marked the beginning of sorrow, Eniitan was diagnosed with chronic pneumonia at age 2, we could not raise fund for her health because we were so down to ground then, we ran to several people for help but no one to help and unfortunately, we lost the battle to #pneumonia. Eniitan represents every child that never lived to mark age 3 due to a deadly yet preventable illness; #pneumonia. It’s another WORLD PNEUMONIA DAY #WPD2017 and we remember Eniitan.

Pneumonia remains the leading infectious cause of death among children under five, killing 2,500 children a day. Pneumonia accounted for 15 per cent of all under-five deaths and killed 920,000 children in 2015. Most of its victims were less than 2 years old according to @WHOSo, this year’s #WorldPneumoniaDay, let us join voices in creating awareness about this dreadful illness in our health facilities, communities and nations at large. Celebrating Christmas in the Community: The “Feed a Thousand Initiative” in Ugele

  This Christmas, the spirit of giving came alive in Ugele, Akure North, Ondo State, as we partnered with sister NGOs: IBI Foundation, John-Lucy Development Initiative, Mercy Speaks Initiatives, and Mrs. Arica to host the “Feed a Thousand Initiative.” This heartwarming event was not just about feeding the children but about creating lasting memories, fostering community spirit, and spreading the true magic of Christmas.   Kids & Teens Resource Centre recently participated in the HIV Awareness Walk to commemorate World AIDS Day 2024, organized by ODSACA (Ondo State Agency for the Control of AIDS). The event took place in Akure and was led by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. This year’s theme highlighted prevention, stigma reduction, and support for individuals living with HIV. The World AIDS Day event brought attention to the need for education, community action, and awareness to combat the HIV epidemic. The Walk to Commemorate World AIDS Day The HIV Awareness Walk began at the Government House, Alagbaka, and concluded at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure.
