World Humanitarian Day 2019 With Children of the Poor

As an organization well known for serving children and young people,  Kids & Teens Resource Centre commemorated the World Humanitarian day, with other Sister Organizations  by Feeding The Hungry at Post Office and Sabo Community of Akure on the 19th of August 2019. This event featured as a promoter of Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2) – “No Hunger”. 

The “Feed The Hungry” event  was a platform where over 150 children of the poor were fed. Other people in attendance included representatives of Sister Organizations – Proud Daughter Initiative, Oluwamaosi Initiative, Bee Enterprise and Tomomewo Community Development. The Mangement, Staff and Volunteers of Kids & Teens Resource Centre were also in attendance.

OPERATION FEED THE HUNGRY IN ACTION

Other activities in the cause of the food preparation, included a dialogue session. Mr  Adeyemo J.O, a worker of National Commission for Museum monument (NCMM) engaged some of the organization’s volunteers to know more about Kids & Teens Resource Centre. The CEO of the organization, Martin – Mary Falana also engaged some of the passersby to intimate them about what the organization does.

One of the side attractions during the food serving  was DJ Phree entertaining the entire vicinity with music. As the beneficiaries were fed, their faces were glowing with joy.

Celebrating Christmas in the Community: The “Feed a Thousand Initiative” in Ugele

  This Christmas, the spirit of giving came alive in Ugele, Akure North, Ondo State, as we partnered with sister NGOs: IBI Foundation, John-Lucy Development Initiative, Mercy Speaks Initiatives, and Mrs. Arica to host the “Feed a Thousand Initiative.” This heartwarming event was not just about feeding the children but about creating lasting memories, fostering community spirit, and spreading the true magic of Christmas. A Christmas Celebration of Fun and Learning The event was a perfect blend of fun, education, and celebration. Kids & Teens Resource Centre commemorate World AIDS Day

  Kids & Teens Resource Centre recently participated in the HIV Awareness Walk to commemorate World AIDS Day 2024, organized by ODSACA (Ondo State Agency for the Control of AIDS). The event took place in Akure and was led by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. This year’s theme highlighted prevention, stigma reduction, and support for individuals living with HIV. The World AIDS Day event brought attention to the need for education, community action, and awareness to combat the HIV epidemic. The Walk to Commemorate World AIDS Day The HIV Awareness Walk began at the Government House, Alagbaka, and concluded at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure. This symbolic event emphasizes the urgency of HIV/AIDS prevention strategies and the role of community support in achieving better health outcomes.
