HOW TO HELP KIDS DISCOVER PASSION, VISION, PURPOSE AND CAREER

A country full of men with no vision will be full of selfish and irresponsible leaders and citizen.

Let us imagine that someone embarked on a journey to Lagos and forgets why he was in Lagos when he got there. What will you suggest to that person? Let me also ask this, someone has 100km journey to make but remembered that he did not know why he embarked on the journey at 30km? What will you suggest to the person? That is the story of many of humans on the earth. They have spent the foundational part of their life on what they were not meant to do? Most humans are just trying to find relevance where there is no relevance. Find fulfillment where their none, trying to be a round peg in a square hole, trying to end well in what we shouldn’t have started in the first place

At the early stage of life so many errors have been made in terms of following the path of the creator for our life but instead of going back to start from the beginning we are trying to make it work.

The creator cannot support the assignment He never gave you in the first place. We cannot force Him to follow us to where He did not send us. What we need to become all He wants us to be is all embedded into our creation, we are just here to discover it and follow it to the end. We already have a function, a path of relevance, a duty assigned for us before we came, hence our creation as a male or female, in Africa or America. It is for purpose of us being a round peg in a round hole. It is better to die doing only what God has created you to do than to do everything without it. Nothing can fill the vacuum of vision except vision. Until one finds it and stay there, you will continue to feel this emptiness.

If everybody on the surface of the earth will stay in Gods vision for their life, this will be without problems. Let me make you to understand this. Before the creation of anyone, God saw a problem on the surface of the earth, may be child abuse. Then HE created someone to come to the earth to provide solution to it. The persons growth is to mature to assume this responsibility, she/he begins to have passion towards this area. Every raw material that he/she needs to be able to take up this responsibility is already in him/her. This is one of the reasons parental help is important so as guide them into what they are to become

One of the major factors that we consider in Vision Discovery process is the place of conditioning, by that we mean childhood conditioning. Childhood conditioning affects the way a child views life, How he views success and fulfillment, By this I mean the kind of environment and influence that a child had been subjected to. It is then our responsibility to help them discover their vision and help them see success in the right way. I also think that parents need to change their mentality about which job or profession brings success. Our Job is to guide them to do what they were born to do.

There are times we would need to employ external influence to assist us to do the needful.

I must say from here that this class is not for the children alone, parents need to be sincere with themselves to accept their level in the process of Vision discovery. The truth is that most parents do not know their own vision. Most of us are just working to make living. We are not sure of why we are here.

What is Passion?

According to Cambridge University, Passion is an extreme interest in or wish for doing something, such as a hobby, activities etc or a very powerful feeling. It can also mean a feeling of intense enthusiasm towards or compelling desire for someone or something. Passion can be said to be what simultaneously challenge you, intrigues you and motivate you. Passion usually surface at the tender age in Life

There are negative passions and there are positive passions.

Positive passion should be developed and negative passion should be replaced with a positive one. Now passion is one of the major elements that we use in the Vision discovery process and I like us to pay attention to it

Benefit of Passion:

My definition of success is doing what you like to do and somebody is paying you to do it. Self motivation, Satisfaction, Happiness etc

 How to Discover Passion?

  • Go down the memory lane, what do you love doing ?
  • What are you positively addicted to doing?

  • What do you do often with less stress and others do with great effort.
  • Do a passion test

What does your child have passion for; nothing is stupid when it comes to passion. Every parent need to work on their own personal discovery and do for their children too. For example, one of my child have passion for reading books, he reads at the speed of light If u buys a book for him before you get home don’t be surprised that he has finished it. It is a process of self discovery.

As soon as I asked that question, your thought goes to your childhood days. But attending to School fees, family matters has taken them from us. My assignment for this class is this, take time to think about your children, ask them questions and list out their passion.

In conclusion, I want us to find out the temperament of our children? Do we have parents who know the temperament of their children?

There are four types of temperament.  They include;

  • Choleric- they gets angry easily, wants to lead(leader by birth), have ego, can argue, calculative, workaholic
  • Sanguine- they like talking, are lovely and creative, don’t like to be put in a box, like enjoyment and adventure, they can spend money. A sanguine is better in art class
  • Melancholy- they can think, easily withdraw to their shell, doesn’t like assignment but the best when he does it, good writing, calculative, colour matching, meticulous. Melancholy are better Scientist
  • Phlegmatic- Very quiet, do not care about many things, gentle and simple. They usually marry Choleric or Sanguine. They and Melancholy will not talk in this class, because the melancholy will be marking their English but will not talk and will follow the class to the end. Phlegmatic may not be willing to know anything, not mostly motivated.

Beating a child every time will not make you as a parent understands why he/she is acting that way and will not know how to convert the negative energy into positive ones. All this will help us to know our children thereby helping them to know their purpose.

As we grow if we do not overcome the impossibility mentality, we go through some influences that alter our believes and possibilities of achieving some things in life. We therefore shift our eyes from our dreams and make do with what is possible in our eyes considering the circumstance that we are. this also affect our children. Never limit their dreams by your condition whether you can provide for their dreams or not. let us help them to nurture that dream in our own way.

Anytime you abuse a child and shout at them because they didn’t do something well, you kill the ability to dare things, anytime they see impossibility they run because they do not want to be embarrassed.

I like to us to go through this story and bring out the lessons about passion at childhood

A South African entrepreneur Elon Musk is known for founding Tesla Motors and Space X, which launched a landmark commercial spacecraft in 2012.

Who Is Elon Musk?

Elon Musk is a South African-born American entrepreneur and businessman who founded X.com in 1999 (which later became PayPal), SpaceX in 2002 and Tesla Motors in 2003. Musk became a multimillionaire in his late 20s when he sold his start-up company, Zip2, to a division of Compaq Computers.

Musk made headlines in May 2012, when SpaceX launched a rocket that would send the first commercial vehicle to the International Space Station. He bolstered his portfolio with the purchase of Solar City in 2016, and cemented his standing as a leader of industry by taking on an advisory role in the early days of President Donald Trump’s administration.

Early Life

Musk was born on June 28, 1971, in Pretoria, South Africa. As a child, Musk was so lost in his daydreams about inventions that his parents and doctors ordered a test to check his hearing.

At about the time of his parents’ divorce, when he was 10, Musk developed an interest in computers. He taught himself how to program, and when he was 12 he sold his first software: a game he created called Blastar.

Read about Lionel Merci, he has growth deficiency disease but the parent discovered the passion for football and help him develop it

Interact with your child and make a list of their passions. We are reconditioning that child, we can shout but not every time. It is not by the volume. If they get used to the shout, you will need to keep increasing the volume because as they grow they will need more volume. If they are used to low volume, they will get used to it too. As they express their passion, they are going to express them wrongly, we need to correct from the point of understanding.

Joseph in the bible was a dreamer but He ended as an administrator. His gift only helped him to be a good economist. He could manage the economy of a country for 14 years just by dreams.
