The Children’s Day event on May 27th, 2024, at the K&TRC Conference Hub was a resounding success, focusing on “Life building skills, Self Discovery, and Confidence building for children”. The event aimed to equip the children with essential life skills, guide them in self-discovery, and inspire confidence in their abilities.

The day began with the arrivals of participants, registration, an opening prayer by Miss Osuntuyi Esther, and the rendition of the National Anthem. Miss Toolami introduced the participating students, schools, and facilitators, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Emmanuel, setting the tone for the day’s program activities.

Miss Omosewa delivered a compelling presentation on Self Discovery and Negotiation, emphasizing their impact on daily life, families, and society. She emphasized the importance of self-confidence in helping children develop their lives and make a positive impact on society.The event provided a platform for children to learn life-building skills, self-discovery, negotiation, and early career planning.

It aimed to guide them in developing their talents to contribute to their own well-being and the society at large.The success of the event was evident in the active participation and engagement of the attendees, as well as the impactful presentations and discussions that took place throughout the day.

The Children’s Day event exemplified the commitment to empowering children and nurturing their potential for a brighter future.

Celebrating Christmas in the Community: The “Feed a Thousand Initiative” in Ugele

  This Christmas, the spirit of giving came alive in Ugele, Akure North, Ondo State, as we partnered with sister NGOs: IBI Foundation, John-Lucy Development Initiative, Mercy Speaks Initiatives, and Mrs. Arica to host the “Feed a Thousand Initiative.” This heartwarming event was not just about feeding the children but about creating lasting memories, fostering community spirit, and spreading the true magic of Christmas.   Kids & Teens Resource Centre recently participated in the HIV Awareness Walk to commemorate World AIDS Day 2024, organized by ODSACA (Ondo State Agency for the Control of AIDS). The event took place in Akure and was led by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. This year’s theme highlighted prevention, stigma reduction, and support for individuals living with HIV. The World AIDS Day event brought attention to the need for education, community action, and awareness to combat the HIV epidemic. The Walk to Commemorate World AIDS Day The HIV Awareness Walk began at the Government House, Alagbaka, and concluded at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure. This symbolic event emphasizes the urgency of HIV/AIDS prevention strategies and the role of community support in achieving better health outcomes.
