KIDS & TEENS COMMEMORATES GLOBAL GOALS WEEK

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 goals for a better world by 2030. These goals have the power to end poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. Guided by the goals, Kids & Teens Resource Centre keeps carrying out activities that envisions a secured future where young people are empowered to contribute to the sustainable development of their communities.

Celebrating Global Goals Week

Kids & Teens Resource Centre in its 16 years of existence, has supported global moves right from the time of Millennium Development Goals to the present era of Sustainable Development Goals. Most of the organization’s activities such as Children Hygiene and Sanitation Education (CHASE), Knowing Series, Children Cultural Fiesta, Children Caravan etc. have largely promoted SDGs (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 16 & 17).

K & TRC Commemorating Global Goals Week at Ibulesoro Community

In this Global Goals week, K & TRC has carried out an empowerment program for adolescent girls and young women in one of her adopted communities; Ibulesoro Community which promote SDG 1- No Poverty.  The community adolescent girls were empowered with life building skills to make healthy decisions. It was great to also note that four under privileged young girls who were enrolled for an empowerment program six months ago by Kids & Teens Resource Centre with Bimmy Brown Fashion Academy were presented sewing machines during this community program by Khessed Receptive, USA. For the young women in the community, they were made to participate in several skills acquisition training.

Kids & Teens Resource Centre commemorate World AIDS Day

  Kids & Teens Resource Centre recently participated in the HIV Awareness Walk to commemorate World AIDS Day 2024, organized by ODSACA (Ondo State Agency for the Control of AIDS). The event took place in Akure and was led by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. This year’s theme highlighted prevention, stigma reduction, and support for individuals living with HIV. The World AIDS Day event brought attention to the need for education, community action, and awareness to combat the HIV epidemic. The Walk to Commemorate World AIDS Day The HIV Awareness Walk began at the Government House, Alagbaka, and concluded at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure. This symbolic event emphasizes the urgency of HIV/AIDS prevention strategies and the role of community support in achieving better health outcomes. World Diabetes Day Outreach: Fighting Diabetes Together

World Diabetes Day serves as a global reminder of the growing impact of diabetes on millions of people worldwide. In Nigeria, diabetes continues to be a rising health concern, with many unaware of the importance of early detection, prevention, and management. At Kids & Teens Resource Centre, we took a hands-on approach to raise awareness and educate communities about diabetes through a powerful outreach event at Isikan Market, Akure, Ondo State on World Diabetes Day. A Day of Health and Awareness at World Diabetes Day Outreach   In collaboration with our dedicated sister NGOs, including The Speaking Voice of Hope for the Less Privileged Initiative, John Lucy Development Initiative, MercySpeak, and ELROI Ministries, we embarked on a mission to bring life-saving health checks and valuable information to the heart of Isikan Market.
