Kids & Teens Resource Centre (K&TRC) has received a ₦1,000,000 support from Royalty Business and Travels Consult (RBTC) to promote menstrual health and hygiene among adolescent girls in Nigeria.
The Alarming Reality: Menstrual Hygiene in Nigeria
– 1 in 5 girls miss school during their menstrual period due to lack of access to sanitary products and facilities¹
– 60% of adolescent girls have poor menstrual hygiene practices, leading to health risks and social stigma²
– 24% of school days are missed by girls due to menstruation, affecting their education and future prospects³
– 70% of girls use unhygienic materials during menstruation, increasing the risk of infections and health complications⁴
A Step Towards Change
RBTC’s support will enable K&TRC to procure sanitary pads for distribution through Padbanks in secondary schools in Nasarawa State, reaching girls in underserved communities. This initiative is part of the UNESCO O3 Project, addressing the pressing needs of in-school adolescent girls.
The Impact of RBTC’s Donation
With this donation, we can:
– Provide sanitary pads to 5,000 girls, ensuring they can manage their menstruation with dignity
– Reduce absenteeism and improve academic performance among adolescent girls
– Promote menstrual health and hygiene practices, reducing health risks and social stigma
Partnership for Impact
K&TRC appreciates this impactful partnership with RBTC, which will improve the health, education, and well-being of adolescent girls not only in Nasarawa State but across Nigeria. RBTC’s commitment to driving social impact through innovative solutions and community-focused CSR initiatives is truly commendable.
Together, We Can Make a Difference
By supporting adolescent girls in managing their menstrual health, we can help them stay in school and achieve their full potential. We are grateful for RBTC’s support and look forward to continuing our work in promoting menstrual health and hygiene.
